Press Release Body: "Badra" is an attempt to reach the masses, especially the youngsters... these were the words of Rupali Dalal, who was in town recently to promote her debut album "Badra" at Connaught Place, New Delhi based Hotel Palace Heights 'Zaffran'. On this occasion to support the debutant singer well-known anchor (IPL) & actor Sameer Kochar was also present there, who himself is a die-hard music lover and fortunately a friend of Rupali. Rupali Dalal has recently released her album "Badra" which mesmerizes her listeners with fusion music. Being released by Times music the album is a delightful, refreshing blend of different genres, gathering into its mellifluous fold such an eclectic styles as lounge, Sufi Rock, Punjabi Folk, Hip Hop, Rajasthani folk and Hindi pop fusion. Rupali is overwhelmed with the response she's getting for her efforts. About her experience she said this is a romantic album which consists of 9 songs out of which 2 are remixes. The music has been scored by Sanjeev-Darshan while renowned lyricist Sameer has penned the lyrics for 'Badra'. It takes almost 5-6 months to complete this album and it was a great learning experience for me. She said 'Badra' spreads the message of love, it signifies the love which unfolds between two lovers and longing for each other's presence. About her personal favourite she said though I have rendered all the songs from my heart and I like them all but the title track 'Badra' is very special to me. Being an exponent of renowned Kirana Gharana of Hindustani Classical Music, I have treated classical ragas with modern techniques to make them listener friendly. We have also used classical instruments like Sarangi, Flute, Sarod & Sitar etc. to keep the classical base. The video of title track has also been made which was shot at Jaisalmer Fort the video is directed by Sumit Dutt and is being applauded by the audiences. On this occasion Sameer congratulated Rupali for the success of her album. Since I belong to Delhi its wonderful being here to support my friend Rupali, she has done such a great work in this album and I personally feel pleased when I came to know that she's in town to promote her album. Rupali Dalal is a versatile Vocalist-one of the few prominent women exponent of the prestigious Kirana Gharana of Hindustan Classical Music, who has also gathered acclaim for her ventures into several other genres of music. She has successfully blended her strong base in classical music with several different styles and genres and her performances worldwide over the years have won her many plaudits. After decade of pursuit of music and training under luminaries like Ustad Niaz Ahemad Khan, Ustad Shahid Pervez Khan, and Pandit Murli Manohar Shukla and myriad concert later, Rupali is ready to enthrall music lovers with her first album 'Badra'. Rupali belongs to the Kirana Gharana of Hindustani classical music which represents one of the most resplendent traditions of music in India. Pandit Bhimsen Joshi and Gangubai Hangal have been the most prominent artists of this Gharana, in which music is offered like a flowing, dancing stream which both energizes and cools the mind and sets the soul on its path of divine bliss. She has been trained in the Kirana Gharana gayaki by the maestro Niaz Ahmed Khan who belongs to the legendary duo Niaz Ahmed Khan and Fayaaz Ahmed Khan. Together they have produced music -magic with their fantastic tans, brilliant ornamentation and colourful presentation of ragas. These qualities are well reflected in Rupali's music. She sings with a rare insight into each raga, adding a touch of passion.
